About Me

My name is Chenyu Zhu, and I like to go by Andrea.

I am a product designer with background in UX design, spacial design, as well as real estate. My passion is to solve complex problems for businesses and customers.

Currently I’m a student at Carnegie Mellon University’s Master of Human-Computer Interaction (MHCI) Program, graduating in August 2022 🎓

Professional Experience

Growing up I’ve always been fascinated about how design could be used to solve complex problems, bring positive impact to people’s lives, and turn great ideas into reality

After earning my bachelor’s degree in Rhode Island School of Design, I worked for two years before becoming a product designer. I had professional experience in a wide variety of companies ranging from tech startup to large corporate, with industries such as art, fintech, automobile, etc.

I am also familiar with PM (ask me about the PM course I designed and taught at CMU!), research, coding, and data visualization. All these skills enhanced my ability to better communicate and collaborate in cross-functional teams.

Personal Life

I enjoy hands-on actives and find the process of making very meditating.

In the past, I’ve designed and built furniture from raw timber. I wrote a recipe book about pasta. One of my goal this year is to earn a bartending license.

Also I have a dog named Bagel. He’s a 5-year-old shiba inu looks exactly like the emoji 🐕
